These terms apply to your use of langhamcommunitytrust.org and our member/volunteer portal (together, "the website"), operated by Langham Community Trust ("the Trust", "we", "us", "our"). By using the website, making a donation, booking an event, or applying to volunteer with us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the website.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.

Who we are

Langham Community Trust is a registered charity. Our registered charity number and registered address are shown in the footer of this website. You can contact us at [email protected] or via our Contact page.

Using this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • use the website in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts, or the portal;
  • interfere with or disrupt the website, or introduce any virus, malware, or harmful code;
  • scrape, copy, or reproduce content from the website for commercial purposes without our permission; or
  • use the website to send unsolicited communications or spam.

We may suspend or restrict access to the website, or to a portal account, at any time — for example, to protect the security of the site or where these terms have been breached.

Donations

Donations made through the website are processed securely by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card details.

Donations are generally non-refundable, but if you believe you've made a donation in error, contact us as soon as possible at [email protected] and we'll do our best to help.

If you ask us to claim Gift Aid on your donation, you confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and that you have paid, or will pay, an amount of UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax we and any other charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs you donate to will reclaim on your donations in the relevant tax year. It's your responsibility to notify us if this changes, or if you no longer pay enough tax to cover your Gift Aid donations.

We use donations to further the Trust's charitable purposes. Where you've earmarked a donation to a specific project or category, we'll use it for that purpose where reasonably possible; if a project is no longer able to proceed, we'll apply the donation to a similar purpose or to the Trust's general funds.

Event bookings and tickets

Where an event requires a ticket or booking, the booking is confirmed once payment (where applicable) has been processed and you've received a confirmation email. Tickets are personal to the event stated and are not transferable for resale.

Tickets are generally non-refundable once purchased, except where an event is cancelled or significantly changed by us, in which case we'll offer a refund or alternative wherever we reasonably can. We may need to change an event's date, time, location, or programme, or cancel it, due to circumstances outside our control (for example, poor weather, venue availability, or low attendance) — where possible we'll give you as much notice as we can.

You're responsible for arriving with a valid ticket (the link or QR code sent to you by email) and for the safety and conduct of yourself and anyone you bring, in line with any instructions given on the day.

Volunteering

If you apply to volunteer with us, submitting an application does not guarantee a role — we assess applications, and some roles require a satisfactory DBS check or other safeguarding checks before you can take part, in line with our safeguarding policies (see Admin → Policies for our published policy documents). We may decline an application, or end a volunteering arrangement, where we reasonably believe it's necessary to protect the people we work with.

Portal accounts

Trustees, staff, and volunteers with access to the member/trustee portal are responsible for keeping their login details secure and for all activity under their account. Let us know straight away if you think your account has been compromised. We may suspend or remove portal access at any time, including where someone's role with the Trust ends.

Content and intellectual property

The text, images, logos, and other content on this website belong to the Trust or are used with permission, unless stated otherwise. You may view, download, and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, but you may not otherwise reproduce, republish, or redistribute our content without our written permission.

If you submit content to us — for example, a project idea, a testimonial, or a photo — you confirm you have the right to share it, and you give us permission to use, edit, and publish it in connection with the Trust's activities (for example, on this website or in our newsletter), unless you tell us otherwise when you submit it.

Links to other websites

Our website may link to third-party websites (for example, Stripe, or organisations we work with). We're not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those websites, and linking to them doesn't mean we endorse them. You use them at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

Liability

We do our best to keep the website accurate, secure, and available, but we don't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We're not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website, except where that loss is caused by our negligence, or where the law doesn't allow us to exclude or limit our liability (for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example if our activities or the services we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
